PARTICIPATING ARTISTS INCLUDE MIKE STERN, CHRIS POTTER, DAVID BINNEY, ANTONIO SANCHEZ AND MORE
September 20th, 2021—55 Bar, an adored dive bar that is utterly unique in the New York City music scene where audiences can watch some of the world’s best jazz and blues musicians from ten feet away, is set to host a series of all-star shows running September 22 through October 2 in an effort to remain open. Confirmed performers include Nir FelderChris PotterHipster AssassinsTangiers Blues BandDan Weiss & Ari HoenigMike SternDavid BinneyAdam Roger’s DICERudderAntonio Sanchez with Donny McCaslinMiguel Zenon & Scott Colley and Oz Noy. Performances will take place at 9:30 PM nightly and will also be live streamed on YouTube; get tickets HERE.
With live music decimated by the pandemic, 55 Bar is swamped with expenses from the 14 months it remained shuttered by government mandate. The proceeds from these shows will give a big boost to the club and provide some all-important maneuvering room while they work things out. All fans of live music and of the 55 Bar are invited to attend.
55 Bar is savable. The numbers are perhaps too big for the 55 Bar to handle alone, but completely achievable through a wider effort. To that end, the club has launched a fundraiser as well; donate HERE.
The 55 Bar is located at 55 Christopher Street, New York, NY 10014. Proof vaccination is required to enter. It’s a club where brilliant newcomers can launch their careers and seasoned professionals can workshop new compositions before going out on the road. Regulars include Mike Stern, Leni Stern, Wayne Krantz, David Binney, Adam Rogers, Henry Hey, Keith Carlock, Tim Lefebvre, KJ Denhert, Sweet Georgia Brown, Tessa Souter, Kendra Shank, Ayana Lowe, Duchess, Thana Alexa, Nicole Zuraitis, Ben Monder, Jim Ridl, Jim Campilongo and many more.
