Aerosmith’s Brad Whitford Suggests Lengthy Farewell Tour, Band Discussing New Music
Aerosmith have announced dates for 2017 for their farewell tour, but we may not actually be seeing the end of the band for some time. In a new interview with Metal Express Radio, guitarist Brad Whitford suggests that while the trek will start in 2017, they have a lot of places to hit before playing their final show.
“We really are calling it the Farewell Tour but it`s going to probably take us between the next three to fve years as we plan on touring the States, South America, Europe and Japan and wherever else, so it`s going to take a while,” explained the guitarist.
In addition, Whitford was asked about the possibility of issuing music beyond their most recent album, Music From Another Dimension. He stated, “We’re at the talking stage of doing some more music. It`s quite hard right now as Steven [Tyler] is out on the road with his band. We had a talk a few weeks back about going into the studio. When that`ll happen, though, I`m not sure. We certainly have plenty of ideas.”
At present, Aerosmith have started booking shows for later this year, hitting some European festivals along the way. The “Aero-Vederci, Baby” trek gets underway May 17 in Tel Aviv, Israel. See their scheduled dates here.
