After a major lineup shuffle that began with two members, then everyone except frontman BJ Barham, leaving the band, American Aquarium have announced plans to embark on a two-month fall tour. Barham has also revealed the group’s new lineup.

On social media on Friday, Barham revealed both his new bandmates’ identities — Shane Boeker, Joey Bybee, Ben Hussey, Adam Kurtz — and American Aquarium’s new slate of dates. Boeker is on guitar, Bybee is playing drums, Hussey is on bass and Kurtz is playing pedal steel.

“Over the last few months, I’ve made reference to the ‘new guys’ more than once,” Barham writes. “Now that we’re less than a month away from our fall tour, I think it’s okay to let the cat out of the bag … Faces have changed, but the songs are still the same.”

In his social media post, Barham also says that he is “excited” for fans to hear the new tunes that the band has been working on. In July, he told The Boot that he and his new American Aquarium bandmates will head into the studio this fall, with tentative plans to release a new album in early 2018.

“This is going to be a proper rock ‘n’ roll album. That’s the goal. But, it wouldn’t be an American Aquarium record without some super-emotional songs,” Barham shares. “The record is named Things Change, and it’s a record about where [American Aquarium’s last album] Wolves left off … Since Wolves came out, I’ve gotten sober, I’ve gotten married, I have a new band, and our country is headed in a completely different direction.”

American Aquarium will tour the country starting on Aug. 31 at the iconic Lubbock, Texas, icehouse the Blue Light. Stops in Tennessee, North Carolina, Oklahoma and New York, among others, are also planned.
