Garth Brooks, Numerous Country Stars Among 2015’s Highest-Paid Musicians
It’s no surprise that there’s big money in the music industry, and year after year, country stars prove that they can earn as big of a piece of the pie as artists from other genres. Forbes has released its annual list of the top earners in the music business, and it’s well populated with some of country music’s biggest acts.
Garth Brooks beat out his country counterparts to come in at No. 3 on the list, behind Katy Perry and One Direction. Brooks brought in $90 million in 2015, with much of the income coming from the more than $1 million he’s raking in at every stop on his World Tour. Just behind Brooks is country-turned-pop superstar Taylor Swift, whose $80 million in revenue can be partially attributed to the release of her most recent album, 1989, which was a smash hit.
The next country singer on the list is Toby Keith, who fell from his No. 10 spot on last year’s list to No. 16, with $53 million in earnings. Keith is followed by Jason Aldean at No. 19 ($43.5 million), Luke Bryan at No. 20 ($42.5 million), Kenny Chesney at No. 21 ($42 million), Tim McGraw at No. 24 ($38 million) and Florida Georgia Line at No. 27 ($36.5 million).
