Meet the Men of the New ‘Ghostbusters’

Even though the Paul Feig-directed Ghostbusters reboot is already filming, Chris Hemsworth is the only known male to star in the film that features Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones as the new ‘Busters quartet.

Now, it has been revealed that Andy Garcia (pictured above in Ocean’s Eleven) has been cast as the Mayor of New York City, writes TheWrap. They also add that Michael Kenneth Williams of “Boardwalk Empire” and HBO fan favorite “The Wire” (pictured below) also joined the project, currently shooting in Boston, as a character named Hawkins.

There’s more: Matt Walsh, best known as press aide Mike McLintock of “Veep,” also joins the cast as Rourke, with Pat Kiernan, the longtime morning anchor on New York City’s NY1 on Time Warner Cable, stretching himself as a news anchor in the film.

Feig recently revealed the Ghostbusters’ outfits as well as their proton packs.

Early plot details revealed that [Kristen] Wiig and [Melissa] McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia.

Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.
