‘My So-Called Life’ Star AJ Langer Is Officially A British Countess

Former “My So-Called Life” and “Baywatch” star AJ Langer has inherited the title of Countess. Alison Joy Langer is now the Countess of Devon following the death of her father-in-law, Hugh Courtenay, the Earl of Devon, at age 73. Langer wed the earl’s son, Charles Courtenay, in 2005. Charles has inherited the family’s 4,000-acre estate, Powderham Castle, according to The Telegraph. The couple met in Las Vegas when Charles was on tour with the London Scottish Rugby Club. They lived in Sin City until relocating with their two children to the United Kingdom in 2014. Back in 2009, Langer told the website Breezy Mama that having a title wouldn’t change her family. “The whole title thing…I am no expert. It means more to some people and less to others. It definitely makes for interesting conversation, and an interesting story,” she explained. “If Charlie becomes the Earl of Devon, my title would become the Countess of Devon and our kids would be Lords and Ladies. But we don’t use the titles in our daily lives. “They are there and we respect the history that gave rise to them, but in our reality we’re just a normal family.” Read more at: http://tr.im/JTNni
