Naomi Campbell ‘Free The Nipple’ Stunt Fails: Instagram Wins In ‘No-Nip’ Policy By Nuking Pic
Supermodel Naomi Campbell joined the growing list of celebrities in the Free the Nipple campaign: Miley Cyrus, Lina Esco, Melody Thornton and others. However, Naomi’s Instagram bid was stopped in its tracks recently, and she barely made a sound, according to Red Book Magazine. The queen of the catwalk, never one to avoid controversy, tried to inject her two cents into the quest for some women to liberate their boobs. Campbell, 45, uploaded a tasteful black and white topless photo of herself, which showed off her bare nipples. It just so happens that Naomi was promoting her new book with Taschen, a publisher of “art, anthropology, and aphrodisia” since 1980. The two-volume books are a celebration in the anthology of nudes by Italian photographer Paolo Roversi. Naomi captioned the steamy image shot by Mert and Marcus with “#freethenipple.” Not surprisingly, Campbell’s picture garnered a wave of viral attention — until Instagram caught wind of the forbidden image.
Naomi Campbell’s bare boobs photo remained for some eight hours. Later, it was deleted, apparently over a violation the site’s policy on nude images. A spokesperson for Instagram explained why it nixed the London-born model’s pic. “We know that there are times when people might want to share nude images that are artistic or creative in nature, but for a variety of reasons, we don’t allow nudity on Instagram.” It’s gone, but you can’t un-see the posted goods by the bad girl model.
