OH! THE HORROR Offers Metalcore Take on Pop Songstress Faouzia’s “Tears of Gold”

OH! THE HORROR’s “Tears of Gold” Video Available Today
On the heels of last week’s reveal of OH! THE HORROR’s heavier take on pop sensation Faouzia’s “Tears of Gold,” the metalcore-rap trio today is offering up an enhanced lyric video for the track.
Watch the video for OH! THE HORROR’s “Tears of Gold” at https://youtu.be/IiwV6D0_qfA.
An unusual choice of tracks to cover, the Sacramento-based group threw the idea on the table after guitarist Jeremy Suddeth came across the Candadian-Moroccan songstress’ original and shared it with vocalist Grady Finch. “We thought we could do a cool hard rock/metal remake of it in our own style,” explains vocalist Jonathon Hellhouse. “After getting in the studio it just felt so natural.”
The single, which was mixed by Johnny Andrews (Motionless In White, Fozzy, In This Moment, Twiztid), is available at https://ingroov.es/tears-of-gold.
OH! THE HORROR kicked off their very first radio campaign this past week with “Tears of Gold” and have already gotten their first taste of radio love in markets like Little Falls, MN, Casper, WY, and more. The track was also added to Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Rock playlist and Alternative Press’s AltPress Discover playlist on Spotify.
Bringing in a fresh mix of underground horror metal to the scene, OH! THE HORROR got their start in 2012, coming out with original songs and introducing a new level of energy to local venues. They kept fans wanting more with each show performed boasting energetic beats, innovative style, creative lyrics and clever schemes.
The band’s members bring in backgrounds of metalcore, punk, pop, rap, horrorcore and industrial music, and pull influences from horror films and video games to give an edgy marriage of that perfectly blended incompatibly.
In 2018, with the band’s introduction to the Super Devil lyrical character, OH! THE HORROR went through a complete revitalization. They came back harder than ever with their souls contracted and promises to uphold; they quickly climbed in popularity and recognition. Their sound has reformed to incorporate more electronic influences and pop vocals, bringing with it the energy of EDM, the catchiness of pop, the heart of metal and the flow of rap.
This exploration of sound will continue on the band’s next album, where the “Tears of Gold” single will also appear. “When we were writing the album, we wanted to make something fun, inspiring and a little out there,” the band says. “We decided to take our sound into something different taking influences from pop punk, metal and trap music to make our vision a reality. Our goal is to make sure that OH! THE HORROR is your favorite band! In the future you can expect more musical experimentation, energetic live shows and constant evolution of both our music and ourselves as artists.”
Through their songs, stage presence, and affiliations, OH! THE HORROR weaves a complex story of the lore and mystery of a world that has built itself around them.
