Ronnie Dunn and Reba McEntire are vocally back together again, on record. The pair went into the studio recently to record “Still Feels Like Mexico,” a new duet that will be featured on Dunn’s upcoming album.

“I played for Reba a song that’s called ‘Still Feels Like Mexico’ and she came back and says ‘I wanna sing on that,’” Dunn dishes to Big Machine Label Group. “So just that quick, so sure, why not? How am I gonna tell you no? Are you kidding? I wouldn’t tell her no anyway. She did it, and we mixed it and it’s a duo, a duet.”

This isn’t the first time the two have collaborated together, of course. Brooks & Dunn and McEntire had a two-week No. 1 hit in 1998 with “If You See Her.” The songwriter on that, Tommy Lee James, also penned “Still Feels Like Mexico.” You also might remember the 2007 hit “Cowgirls Don’t Cry,” which also showcased the trio.

Dunn and McEntire are two of just three classic artists signed to Nash Icon Records, a joint venture between Big Machine Label Group and Cumulus Media. Earlier this year, they began their Together in Vegas Residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which will resume on Dec. 1. This residency acts as the first time Brooks & Dunn have performed together since their split in 2010.

Dunn is currently in the studio working on his third solo project. There is no release date or title for the record yet, but he did release the first single for the album, “Ain’t No Trucks in Texas,” earlier this summer.
