LOS ANGELES — Florida-based creator Honey has turned the repair of a 1955 fixer-upper into a full-time DIY and lifestyle business, documenting the surprises, mistakes and personal reinvention that followed buying the house after her divorce.
Originally from Vermont, Honey moved to Florida in her mid-20s and spent years working across marketing, branding, graphic design, social media, web projects and creative project management. Buying the house in 2022 redirected that experience toward a hands-on story of starting over.
Honey’s videos give the renovation process humor, personality and a flirty twist, allowing viewers to follow both the visible progress and the inevitable missteps. A wood-chopping clip featuring an unexpected wardrobe change reached approximately 36 million views on Instagram and introduced her take on women in DIY to a much wider audience.
“I spent years working in marketing, branding and digital creative work, then buying an old house took my life in a direction I never expected,” said Honey. “Now I’ve built an entirely new career around something remarkably old-fashioned: working with my hands, fixing things and letting people follow along as I figure it out. It’s satisfying to see the house change and realize how much I’ve changed along with it.”
The house remains an active renovation and expansion project, while Honey is developing longer videos for OFTV. The growing brand now reaches beyond home improvement into travel, cars and outdoor adventures.
Her Vermont roots, love of the outdoors and time in New England remain visible throughout the content, giving the Florida project a personal foundation that connects where she came from with the life she is building now.
