February 10, 2022—9x ACM Award-winner Chris Stapleton is nominated for five more awards at this year’s 57th Annual ACM Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year for “You Should Probably Leave” (as artist and producer) and Video of the Year for Taylor Swift’s “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version).” The awards ceremony will stream live via Amazon Prime Video from Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Monday, March 7 at 8:00PM ET/7:00PM CT.
Additionally, several of Stapleton’s band-members and musicians whose work contributed to his album, Starting Over, earned nods this year, including J.T. Cure (Bass Player of the Year), Derek Mixon (Drummer of the Year), Dave Cobb (Acoustic Guitar Player of the Year and Producer of the Year), Benmont Tench (Piano/Keyboards Player of the Year), Paul Franklin (Specialty Instrument Player of the Year), Mickey Raphael (Specialty Instrument Player of the Year), Kristin Wilkinson (Specialty Instrument Player of the Year), Gena Johnson (Audio Engineer of the Year) and Vance Powell (Audio Engineer of the Year).
The nominations add to yet another monumental year for Stapleton, whose current single, “You Should Probably Leave,” is #1 this week on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts. This is Stapleton’s third #1 as an artist following 2021’s “Starting Over” and 2018’s “Broken Halos.” Stapleton also earned Best Country Tour at the 33rd Annual Pollstar Awards earlier this week. Other recent highlights include three nominations at the upcoming 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards: Best Country Album (Starting Over), Best Country Song (“Cold”) and Best Country Solo Performance (“You Should Probably Leave”) and a recent in-depth profile at CBS’ legendary news program, “60 Minutes.”
Stapleton will continue his extensive “All-American Road Show” his spring with upcoming stops at Denver’s Ball Arena (two nights), Washington State’s Gorge Amphitheatre and “A Concert for Kentucky”—a special performance to be held at University of Kentucky’s Kroger Field on April 23, 2022. The concert is the first ever held at UK’s Kroger Field and will feature very special guests Willie Nelson and Family, Sheryl Crow and Yola. 100% of the concert’s net proceeds will benefit Stapleton’s newly created Outlaw State of Kind Hometown Fund. Established in partnership with the Blue Grass Community Foundation, the fund will specifically support local and national organizations directly impacting Kentucky, with initial grant distributions focusing on music and arts education. Tickets are on sale now at ChrisStapleton.com. See below for complete itinerary.
