New York City-area harsh experimental project GRIDFAILURE has issued a new video for “Systemwide Anomaly” – a track from the outfit’s recent split EP with S.C.R.A.M. – through an exclusive premiere hosted by The Sleeping Shaman.
GRIDFAILURE is the unpredictable, confrontational audiovisual project David Brenner, yielding dense, tension-filled output with elements of dark ambient and dark hardcore infused with jazz, world music, folk, and more. Operating solo or with a cast of collaborators on record and on stage since its 2016 inception, the project has amassed dozens of titles, including prior collaborations with Mac Gollehon, Rack, Megalophobe, Walking Bombs, Christian Molenaar, and others, and splits with Chrome Waves, Never Presence Forever, and more.
The GRIDFAILURE material was written, performed, recorded, and mixed by David Brenner at The Compound in Valley Cottage, New York, and the S.C.R.A.M. material written, performed, recorded, and mixed by Pranjal Tiwari at The Sarcophagus in Oakland, California, and all tracks were mastered by Dan Emery at Black Matter Mastering in Nashville, Tennessee (Kool Keith, Krieg, Thetan). The cover was created with photography by Tiwari and Brenner, manipulated/designed by Brenner.
The Sleeping Shaman writes, “…in typical GRIDFAILURE fashion, the three-and-a-half-minute soundscape gnaws away at your cerebral cortex in this audio and visual assault.”
Watch GRIDFAILURE’s “Systemwide Anomaly” video first through The Sleeping Shaman now at THIS LOCATION.
The split EP is out now only at GRIDFAILURE’s Bandcamp HERE and S.C.R.A.M.’s Bandcamp HERE.
While GRIDFAILURE regularly releases material independently and through Nefarious Industries, the project is also confirmed to release new records through Anti-Corporate Music, Disorder Recordings, and Today Is The Day founder Steve Austin’s relaunched SuperNova Records, including the third installment of the project’s ongoing five-album concept series Sixth Mass-Extinction Skulduggery III, the third collaborative album with Megalophobe, and more in 2022.
