Today, breakout NYC born-and-bred singer-songwriter Juliet Ivy is premiering a new single, “is it my face?” via AWAL.
“is it my face?” is the first song of more new music to come this year, where Juliet digs into her own experiences as a young woman in the 21st century. Those themes are key to the plainspoken, fuzzed-out new single, which Juliet brainstormed with fellow NYU alum Audrey Hobert (Gracie Abrams). Juliet explains, “‘is it my face?’ is girlhood in a song. It encapsulates the complicated, scattered emotions of being a girl. Because I wrote it with another girl, we were able to put our heads together to perfectly describe the feminine feeling of being unwanted, unapproachable, and unnoticed.” “is it my face?” continues Juliet’s digging into dichotomies and contradictions, particularly those that surround the feeling of navigating the world solo.
The video is also premiering today. Juliet came up with visual concept in conjunction with director Sarah Bromley. Watch / share HERE.
Known for her unique lyrics and dreamy melodies, 23-year-old Juliet Ivy creates a musical world that blends pop, indie, and folk into one seamless sound. By combining existential and introspective subject matter with playful lyrics, Juliet’s music presents a childlike sense of wonder and an intellectual view of the world, as she is able to disguise abstract concepts through her own whimsical lens. Growing up in a Colombian-Chinese household in New York City, she has crafted her sound from a melting pot of cultural influences and has a natural ability to put a Gen-Z twist on tradition. Juliet spent the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 writing her debut EP playpen, which came out late last year. The dreamy yet world-weary “we’re all eating each other” hit No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50, and the five-song collection eventually amassed more than 65 million streams.

Ralph Greco, Jr. is the devilishly clever nom de plume of professional writer/musician Ralph Greco who lives in the wilds of suburban New Jersey. He is also a podcast co-host, but as everyone has a podcast these days, this fact is of very little consequence.
