Story: Ralph Greco, Jr.
Not that he’s not busy enough manning the distinctive violin parts for Kansas presently (and singing and playing guitar), the band enjoying and having expanded their 50th Anniversary Tour, Joe Deninzon is managing to play shows with his own band Stratospheerius next week, in our area.
First, it’s the show at Teaneck’s Debonair Music Hall, next Thursday, 9-28. Go here to buy tickets: EVENTS – Debonair Music Hall. The second show takes place at Kennett Flash, in Kennett Square, PA 9-30, buy tickets here: A Night of Prog Rock with STRATOSPHEERIUS & WE CAME FROM SPACE (ROOFTOP) Tickets | Kennett Square, PA | The Kennett Flash (etix.com).
While Kansas is Mr. D.’s main gig, thrilled as he is that it is so, he does get out and about on days off to perform with Stratospheerius and even stepping on stage with others, which he will do at ProgStock, coming up on the weekend of Oct. 8-9th, in Rutherford, at the William Carlos Williams Center (see here) And just so you know, the new Joe Deninzon and Stratospheerius album, “Behind the Curtain (Live at ProgStock)” is out now, a 2-CD killer set of the unique prog Joe writes and plays so amazingly well with his band. You can buy it here: stratospheerius.bandcamp.com/album/behind-the-curtain-live-at-progstock
So, grab the CD, come out to see Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius, you’ll be happy you did.
Ralph Greco, Jr. is the devilishly clever nom de plume of professional writer/musician Ralph Greco who lives in the wilds of suburban New Jersey. He is also a podcast co-host, but as everyone has a podcast these days, this fact is of very little consequence.
