“The beginning of every year marks a fresh new start. A new opportunity, a reason to hit the gym, a new time to achieve all your personal goals. But for us here at Metal Injection HQ, it marks a very different occasion – it’s been 20 years since this very website launched!

When myself and former business partner, Robert Pasbani launched the website back on January 1, 2004, we really had no idea where it would go. We started out as a TV show many months earlier titled “Metal Injection” and it ran on our local Cable Access Television Network (yes, like Wayne’s World) for a handful of metalheads who were willing to watch our silly program late at night. It was our vision to bring something unique and fresh back to the metal community in a time when things seemed stale.

Our aim, if there was one, was to build even further, and move our ideas to the internet, a newer platform still enduring immense growing pains. To explain the early struggles of creating a video-centric media company on the internet in 2004 might seem completely laughable to our younger audience, but video on the internet was still a very hard sell at the time, especially considering that Metal Injection predates YouTube.

As I sit here today and reflect on the incredibly ambitious vision I had as a young twenty- two year old introverted squirt who didn’t know much about how the music industry worked at the time, it’s incredible to look at our notes from 20 years ago and feel good about what the brand has achieved. From becoming a globally trusted news source for the metal world, to all our successful reviews, editorials, galleries, playlists, webstore, all the way to the many accolades surrounding our award winning video content, it’s truly an honor to experience what a company can do with endless dedication, vision, a great team, and amazing fans out there.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us, worked for us, and visited our website over the last 20 years. None of this is possible without you.

With that said, I’d like to announce in celebration of Metal Injection’s 20th anniversary. We will be enjoying the thrill all year long with a different special release and/or event across the United States for every month of the year!

Keep your eyes peeled for announcements as we soon kick off our super exclusive releases, products, giveaways, and events coming to a town near you. It’s been an incredible journey to say the least, but it feels great to say that we have only just begun!” – Frank Godla

Also, for the whole month of February you can now find the “Metal Injection Sandwich” at Mission Sandwich Social in Brooklyn, NY. Mission is a killer sandwich shop that creates some of the best and heftiest eats you can get on the east coast. They are no strangers to metal, with many of the cooks rocking out in the kitchen, and chef Brian Tsao (from our very own Taste of Metal series) at the helm.

The Metal Injection Sandwich is a delicious and super sized meal that consists of Chicken Cutlet, Guacomole, Pepperjack Cheese, Chipotle Mayo, BBQ Sauces, Cucumber, Pickled Jalapeno, Tomato, Lettuce and Cilantro. This bad boy also comes as a full vegan option and might be one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had!

As you can see, even Revocation’s Dave Davidson approves, so whatcha waiting for!? Head on over to Mission Sandwich Social in Brooklyn, NY to grab the Metal Injection Sandwich before February 29th!
