Photographer Chris Cuffaro Presents Greatest Hits: Jane’s Addiction Exhibit Sept. 15-17

(Los Angeles, CA / September 9, 2022) — Chris Cuffaro, one of the music industry’s most prolific photographers of the modern era, is paying tribute to the shock and awe of a groundbreaking force

with Greatest Hits: Jane’s Addiction, a three-day exhibition at Hollywood’s Musichead Gallery.

The multimedia presentation, which sharpens its focus on Cuffaro’s masterful images that lay bare the legendary band’s raw authenticity and artistry, will also include a one-on-one Q&A interview and audience discussion hosted by popular media personality and music journalist Allison Hagendorf.

Thursday, September 15 is the Opening Reception with refreshments and DJ Fred Sablan (7pm Industry/Media, 8pm General Admission until 10pm), with Cuffaro’s striking photographs on display, capturing Jane’s Addiction’s explosion onto the pop culture landscape between 1989 and 1991.

Friday, September 16 is NFT Night with refreshments and photo exhibit (7:30pm-10pm) as Cuffaro joins Chris Arvan – a masterful digital artist and collaborator on their new content page – for conversations about the collectible marketplace, including their exclusive NFTs created by Arvan from Cuffaro’s original live shots.

Saturday, September 17 is an afternoon of Artist Talk & Live Music within the photo exhibit (1pm-3:30pm) as Cuffaro shares a treasure trove of personal experiences working with the band during its formative years (and beyond) with Hagendorf, followed by musical performances by Shiragirl + VK Lynne (2pm), Beauty School Dropout (2:20) and Bexley (2:45).

The photographer’s crackling images highlight intimately surreal portraits of a band on the brink of – and breakthrough – mainstream musical success, where electrifying live performances, behind the scenes moments and provocative photo shoots – are now, more than 30 years on, the stuff of legend for future generations to enjoy.

California native Chris Cuffaro has photographed the best of the best in the entertainment world – actors, models, athletes and musicians – for more than 40 years. He began his career by shooting local rock shows for fun, then moved to Los Angeles in the early ‘80s to create eye-popping images in the commercial and editorial space for such publications as Rolling Stone, Spin, RayGun, Vibe, Musician, Entertainment Weekly, US, Stuff, Maxim, Premiere, British Elle and W.
