BAND SHARES NEW SINGLE “DEAD WATER” — LISTENSwedish rock band Self Deception are excited to announce the release of the new single “Dead Water,” out now.

This track marks the sixth glimpse into their eagerly awaited album Destroy The Art, scheduled for release on October 25.

Listen to the track here.

“Dead Water” explores the theme of communication breakdown in relationships, highlighting the emotional turmoil when connection fades. As intimacy diminishes and emotional distance grows, the relationship becomes burdensome, often leading to mutual blame.

Inspired by their own experiences, Self Deception members have seen many long-term couples parting ways due to changes, shifting dreams, and the pressures of parenting, anxiety, and depression. This inspired them to create music that resonates with the complexities of adult relationships.

The band says about the track, “We wrote ‘Dead Water’ as a way to express the pain and frustration that comes with losing connection in a relationship. It’s something we’ve seen a lot around us and even experienced ourselves. This song made us nostalgic for simpler times when love and happiness were more effortless. It brought us back to why we started making music in the first place.”

Get ready for Destroy The Art. This release dives deep into introspective themes, blending their signature metalcore and hard rock sound with mature, thoughtful lyrics. Addressing personal and societal challenges, the album promises to resonate deeply with listeners.

This year, the band has dropped several singles, each with a unique sound that’s already making waves globally. Destroy The Art is more than music—I t’s a bold statement that challenges norms.
