Dark Star Pictures and Uncork’d Entertainment have acquired Alessandro Guida and Matteo Pilati’s romantic comedy MASCARPONE. The film, which has snared awards at several major fests including Cinema Diverse (Festival Favorite), Reeling Chicago (Audience Award), OUTshine (Jury Prize), and over 20 others, will be released theatrically and on digital in May.

Antonio is a family man whose life takes an unexpected twist when he’s suddenly dumped by his husband. Antonio needs to find a new place to stay, a job and a new purpose in life: through this process, he discovers the value of independence.

Written by Giuseppe Paternò Raddusa, Matteo Pilati and Alessandro Guida, and directed by Guida and Pilati, MASCARPONE stars Sarah T. Cohen, Alistair Stoneman, Jamila Martin-Wingett, Ray Whelan, Ricardo Freitas, Nicola Wright, and Tony Goodall.

“A lovely coming-of-age film that wears its heart on its sleeve, MASCARPONE has been a hit on the festival hit and we’re confident it’ll be just as much a success in its theatrical and digital release.” said Keith Leopard, President Uncork’d Entertainment. “We look forwarding to sharing it with audiences in May”.

MASCARPONE is in theaters (L.A) May 6 followed by a DVD and VOD release May 10.
