Bonvillain shares “While a little wonky on how we have to pull it off – we wanted the charity to get the full donation amount and also wanted the buyer to get the tax donation credit. So rather than having a auction provider take a buyers fee and fee from the donation – we decided to try and host the auction ourselves and have the winning bidder donate to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco directly. For tax purposes, we are required to set a base value which allows anything over to be tax deductible. We used a value of $1,000 based on an early 2000s Ibanez JS-1000.”

We work with premium manufacturers for limited runs of guitar designs as well as produce a handful of our own builds per year leveraging either premium production instruments from our favorite manufacturers or custom hand-cut one-piece bodies from Geist Custom Instruments, some of the most detailed and unique handmade inlays in the world from Mercier Guitars, and paint jobs that are intended to be out of this world bonkers.
