CAVALERA Kicks Off Morbid Devastation Tour

CAVALERA kicked off the Morbid Devastation Tour in Albuquerque, NM on August 29th. Accompanying the brothers on stage will be Igor Amadeus Cavalera (HEALING MAGIC,

GO AHEAD AND DIE) fulfilling bass duties and Travis Stone (PIG DESTROYER, DESOLUS)

will be supplying lead guitars. Staying true to the raw, discordant energy of the early days, the tracks are delivered like punch after punch, authentically reminiscent of the chaotic live-shows of the eighties as Max wails through Morbid Visions and Iggor slams through “Troops Of Doom.” The quartet has captured the graveyard essence of these albums with a fresh wind, demonstrating from start to finish that Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation will once again wake the dead from their crypt.

Nearly four decades into their illustrious careers, the CAVALERA brothers have re-recorded the cataclysmic debut releases that started it all for them, Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation. As the thrashers from Brazil kick back into their aggressive, primal upbringings, it becomes apparent that the bond between Max on guitar and vocals, and Iggor on drums has only been strengthened immensely since their first recordings, a connection so thunderous that only those two could be creating it.

Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation were re-recorded at The Platinum Underground. The

albums were produced by Max Cavalera and Iggor Cavalera while John Aquilino handled the engineering. Arthur Rizk was responsible for the mixing and mastering of both albums.

CAVALERA enlisted Eliran Kantor to create the artwork for both albums. Max Cavalera

comments, “As we get harder year after year, sometimes you’ve got to go back to where it all started! We re-recorded Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with the amazing sound of NOW, but with its raw and timeless spirit. The artwork reflects the times we’re living in right now…. Apocalyptic as hell! We also have two new tracks with riffs from those days, remembered by heart.”

Chris Ianuzzi: Distant Suns/Wide Side two-sided single

Story: Ralph Greco, Jr. Spacey blips flow into a synth-led danceable beat, with vocals making more music than they do an actual statement on the first tune of NYC-composer Chris Ianuzzi’s new double single. This tune, “Distant Suns,” keeps up with its blurring, plastic-pulling video-game sounds, and swirling vocals throughout its mid-tempo four-minute + mélange. […]
