In yet another historic feat, country superstar Luke Combs performed to
record-breaking crowds during the first three weekends of his 2024 “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” stadium tour. He achieved the highest single-night and two-night attendance at Milwaukee’s American Family Field (44,752 and 86,720 attendees respectively), the highest two-night attendance at Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium (98,015 attendees) and the highest-selling and highest-grossing concert at University Park, PA’s Beaver Stadium
(73,339 attendees).
Of the accomplishment, Jason Hartlund, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer of the Milwaukee Brewers, shares:
“We are happy to share American Family Field has reached new attendance records with Luke Combs’ ‘Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour.’ The combined Friday and Saturday shows exceeded previous total attendance record for back-to-back concerts at the ballpark, set in 2023. Moreover, Combs performance on Saturday surpassed the previous ballpark attendance record for one show, selling 44,752 tickets. It is clear that Wisconsin loves a good stadium tour and Luke Combs certainly delivered in every way possible. American Family Field has become one of the premier locations for concert-goers and one of the best venues to kick-off the start of a tour. We look forward to continuing to work with tour companies to bring Wisconsin fans a great concert experience in one of the most memorable venues.”
Additionally, Chief Operating Officer of the Buffalo Bills, Pete Guelli, comments:
“The Buffalo Bills are grateful to Luke Combs and his Bootleggers for visiting us for two incredible concerts at Highmark Stadium. As the first artist in nearly 40 years to play back-to-back nights at our stadium, Luke created magical memories for concertgoers in Buffalo as part of the second stop of his ‘Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour.’ Reminiscent of a late-season Bills game, the cool April temperatures only added to the atmosphere of Luke’s shows, as proven by the nearly 100,000 fans in attendance.”
Furthermore, Dr. Patrick Kraft, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics at University Park’s Beaver Stadium, adds:
“What a terrific night in Beaver Stadium with Luke Combs and his ‘Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old’ tour! The fans packed the stadium and brought great energy all night long. This record-breaking night added another storied chapter in the history of Beaver Stadium and we look forward to many more events like this in the future!”
Combs will continue his “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” tour through this summer including sold-out, back-to-back shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium, Santa Clara’s Levi’s® Stadium, Phoenix’s State Farm Stadium, Salt Lake City’s Rice-Eccles Stadium and Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium among others. See below for complete tour itinerary and details.
The upcoming performances add to yet another triumphant year for Combs, who leads nominees at the 59th Annual ACM Awards with eight nominationsEntertainer of the YearMale Artist of the YearAlbum of the Year (Gettin’ Oldas artist and producer), Single of the Year (“Fast Car,” as artist and producer), Song of the Year (“Fast Car”) and Music Event of the Year (“Different Round Here” with Riley Green).
Additionally, Combs recently performed an unforgettable duet of “Fast Car” with Tracy Chapman during the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which Rolling Stone called “one of the all-time best collaborative performances in Grammy history.” The performance was the culmination of a massive year for “Fast Car,” as Combs’ version of the song won Single of the Year at the 2023 CMA Awards (with Chapman winning Song of the Year). It also spent five-consecutive weeks atop Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and reached #1 on the Hot AC chart, the first song by a male solo artist to ever top both. The 2x Platinum single, which has garnered over 1.1 billion global streams to date, also spent eighteen weeks in the top 5 of Billboard’s all-genre Hot 100 chart, eight of which were spent at #2.
“Fast Car” is featured on Combs’ most recent album, Gettin’ Old—a companion to his acclaimed 2022 record, Growin’ Up. Produced by Combs, Chip Matthews and Jonathan Singleton, Gettin’ Old further establishes Combs as one of music’s most authentic and powerful voices. Receiving widespread critical attention, Combs spoke with Esquire, who calls him, “the best country singer of his generation,” while Billboard declares, “his electrifying-yet-earthy voice soundtracking this time in his life as a husband, father and entertainer at the top of his game.”
A Grand Ole Opry-member and 11x CMA, 3x ACM, 6x Billboard Music Award-winner, Combs has also partnered with Opry Entertainment Group to open a massive multi-level entertainment complex in downtown Nashville, expected to open this summer.
