LOS ANGELES — Marica Hase is celebrating another career honor after winning the Urban X Award for “Porn Star Next Door,” a category she has described as especially close to her heart.
The award adds to Hase’s history with Urban X, which inducted her into its Hall of Fame in 2021. This latest recognition reflects the connection she says she has developed with fans across the many sides of her career.
“I am so happy to win ‘Porn Star Next Door’ at the Urban X Awards,” said Hase. “This category feels very close to my heart because fans have always supported every side of my career. Thank you so much to Urban X and to everyone who voted for me. Being recognized again means a lot to me.”

The Japanese-born international performer, model and media personality has worked across Japan, the United States, Europe and Asia. After beginning in Japanese television, film and magazine modeling, she entered adult entertainment and built a cross-market career, later becoming the only Japanese performer named a Penthouse Pet in the United States.
Hase first drew major attention by winning the SOD Create Cinderella Audition. That talent search led to her debut as an exclusive performer while she continued working in mainstream media, and she later became an exclusive performer for EROTICA before expanding internationally.
Her career has included industry awards, live-event appearances, voice work and Hall of Fame recognition. It has also included major health challenges: after a breast cancer diagnosis in 2019, she took an extended hiatus for treatment, including a double mastectomy and lymph node removal in 2022.
In early 2025, Hase faced a second diagnosis with cervical cancer, later overcoming it and returning to filming and Japanese television. Away from her professional work, she supports cancer awareness and animal rescue advocacy and shares daily social-media vlogs featuring her pig plush character, Buusan.
