Melody Jai Reclaims Her Story in Debut Memoir I Thought U Should Know

LOS ANGELES, CA — Melody Jai opens one of the most private chapters of her life in I Thought U Should Know, a candid 348-page debut memoir about desire, heartbreak and the difficult road back to self-love. The author, entrepreneur and adult entertainer tells the story on her own terms through the book’s supplied link.

The memoir traces Jai’s 14-year, on-and-off relationship with a world-famous R&B singer, following its exceptional highs, painful complications and lasting emotional consequences. Intimate journal entries and personal text messages are woven into the narrative to preserve what she felt and understood at each stage.

“I spent years living this story before I understood what it was here to teach me,” said Jai. “Writing it meant looking honestly at my choices without surrendering my own responsibility or erasing the love that was real. I wanted to tell my side in my own words, then share what became possible when I stopped looking outside myself for the love I needed.”

Jai entered adult entertainment in 1999 and later built an independent online business after becoming an early YouTube viral sensation in 2009. Her work and training extend well beyond entertainment: she is a Nature Aligned Leadership Coach, a 500-hour trained yoga instructor, a chef and a High Priestess.

Born in Germany and introduced to travel at an early age, Jai has pursued direct experience across continents and disciplines. Her path has taken her to India for yoga training, Peru for ayahuasca and plant medicine, Alaska for work and across the United States while living and traveling full-time in an RV.

The culinary graduate has also studied elemental wisdom, astrology, archetypes and spiritual practice. She completed a year-long Nature Aligned Leadership certification along with High Priestess and intuitive oracle training.

Jai’s visibility surged when a 2009 twerking video reached millions before “going viral” became everyday language. She converted that attention into a successful independently operated adult entertainment business and has worked on film sets, appeared in music videos and earned film and television credits as Melody S. Jones.

At the center of her philosophy is the Creatrix: a woman who thinks for herself, accepts responsibility for her choices and consciously participates in creating her reality. I Thought U Should Know applies that philosophy to Jai’s personal history and the healing journey that led her back to herself.

Today, Jai brings sexuality, spirituality, entrepreneurship, travel, food and personal transformation into one unapologetically whole life, guided by the belief that a woman does not need to make herself smaller or simpler to live with integrity. The memoir is available in paperback and Kindle through Amazon, while signed copies and additional information are offered through TheMelodyJai.com.
