“Love Is Wise” with its shunky drum beat, dirty electric guitar rhythm, and talk-vocal from UK guitarist/songwriter and semi-retired orthopedic surgeon SteveB hits one directly between the eyes with sound, message and tenacity.
SteveB claims he took up guitar again after treating his wife to a recent Glastonbury festival, the iconic almost yearly UK music festival. He leads his band Never2Late, consisting presently of the main man and a revolving cast of players, in a re-working of this tune that came out on the band’s 2015 It’s Hell In Happy Town release.
The solid little rockin’ blues tune tells the stark truth we all might be missing all too often…but is pretty serious to remember. SteveB pulls no punches with lyric, production or playing; it’s all gritty good stuff revealing a masterful player with a singular vision. You can probably here a guitar slinger influence here and there in his touch, but SteveB is a man following his sure fingers…for sure.
