Pantera will kick off their long-awaited North American headlining dates next month with special guest, Lamb Of God. As an added bonus, each show will feature an opening performance by one of five Housecore Records recording artists on select dates.
Housecore Records was founded by Pantera frontman Philip H. Anselmo in an effort to release material by his many side projects and from other bands he’s supported throughout his career. Joining the tour will be Detroit hardcore punk/thrash practitioners SNAFU (Situation Normal All Fucked Up), Detroit punk/metal unit CHILD BITE, Texas brutal death metal faction FLESH HOARDER, Los Angeles eclectic rock outfit SPIRIT IN THE ROOM, and Melbourne, Australia’s grindcore assault, KING PARROT.
The bands comment:
SNAFU’s Scott Curnow: “We’ve been DIY touring the country for over a decade now, we’ve played it all from five-hundred capacity venues to basements with barely any electricity, scummy dive bars, two-car garages, and even a storage unit. So yeah, it goes without saying we are beyond stoked for this and forever grateful to Housecore Records for giving us this opportunity!”
CHILD BITE’s Shawn Knight: “We are tickled all shades of pink (and a hair bewildered to be honest) that we’re supporting Lamb Of God and motherfucking Pan-fucking-tera at a half dozen shows this August. We’ve spent a lot of time with Phil in the studio and on the road the past few years but this one takes the cake. Show up early and watch us writhe via Jumbotron!”
FLESH HOARDER’s Mike DeLeon: “Being from Texas and growing up with Pantera in our heart and souls, it is a total honor to be gracing the stage to celebrate the tunes and the brothers! We will see you all there and look forward to bringing the Texas Thunder along with metal monsters Lamb Of God. Let’s rock the place!”
SPIRIT IN THE ROOM’s Dennis R. Sanders: “My dad took me to see Pantera when I was a kid. Everyone else my age was into Spider-Man and shit like that. But Pantera are real deal superheroes to me. Larger than life. That concert was a game changer. Getting the opportunity to play on their stage for their fans, all these years later, is a dream come true that I am beyond grateful for. Somebody pinch me!”
KING PARROT’s Matt Young: “We couldn’t be happier to announce our return to the US and continue the work that we have done over the last decade. It really was our second home before the world stood still for a minute, so to have this opportunity to pick up where we left off is something we are truly grateful for. The honor of getting to play alongside Pantera is something only dreams are made of, and there was no way in hell we were going to turn down that opportunity. Our little old band from Australia has still got a hell of a point to prove, and we have just as much venom in us as the day we first set foot in the US in 2014. We’ll see you all this September!”
