Pony Clubs Turn September 5 Into a Rhinestone Salute to Working Women -

“9 to 5 Day” pairs complimentary cover, a Dolly Parton look-alike contest and local charitable giving

The Pony Clubs and participating affiliate venues are reading September 5 as more than a date. On Saturday, 9/5 becomes “9 to 5 Day,” a group-wide celebration of working women shaped by the glamour, humor and work ethic associated with Dolly Parton.

Women who work a traditional 9-to-5 schedule will receive complimentary cover at participating locations, including The World Famous Admiral Theatre in Chicago. Regular age, identification, dress-code and entry requirements remain in effect at every venue.

The night’s centerpiece invites guests to arrive with towering hair, bright rhinestones and country-glam style for a Dolly Parton look-alike contest. The winner will receive two admission tickets to Dollywood. The award covers admission only; transportation, lodging, meals and every other travel expense remain the winner’s responsibility.

“Dolly has always made hard work look glamorous, and that’s exactly the spirit behind 9 to 5 Day,” said Mike Dickinson, Regional Manager for The Pony Clubs. “We’re celebrating the women who show up, put in the hours and keep America moving. We want to give them a reason to trade the office for rhinestones and have some fun. Just as importantly, every participating location will help give back to its own community.”

A portion of event proceeds will benefit local charitable organizations selected separately by the participating venues. That structure allows each club to direct its giving toward organizations serving the same community as its staff and guests.
