Today, Hudson Valley, NY quartet, Soul Blind, have shared “Third Chain”, the lead single off their upcoming EP of the same name set for release on September 16th. “Third Chain” is guitar-laden rock at its finest; fiercely melodic and groovy with an angular heaviness that recalls Mezcal Head-era Swervedriver. The video is a swirling kaleidoscope of performance shots filmed through a fisheye lens, depicting a style and color palette evocative of the bands that influenced them. On the three-song EP, Soul Blind provides a contemporary sensibility to the fuzzed-out sounds of ‘90s alt-rock and grunge, while tackling the emotions that come with self-reflection and outward relationships. Recorded with Jon Markson and Adam Cichocki, Third Chain will be the band’s first release with Other People Records. You can check out the video for “Third Chain” here now and stream the track here.

The band will also be hitting the road this fall including California dates with label-mates Modern Color and an East Coast tour with Koyo. A full list of tour dates can be found below.

On the making the track and video, the band stated:

“Third Chain came together in the midst of writing last summer. The song comes from a wide array of influences of ours that we’ve molded into our own. It’s a very guitar driven song carried by melodies of the vocals. We tried to tap into that fast paced gritty guitar-driven sound while keeping the chorus open and huge. Our guitarist Finn came up with the lead riff and everything fell together naturally after that. It’s stood out to us as the single for the EP because it’s a good middle ground of the three tracks and exemplifies how diverse our sound can be. We shot the music video at a park from our area that we all went to growing up with a close friend and frequent collaborator, Justin Pietropaoli.”

Hailing from Hudson Valley, NY, Soul Blind pushes the boundaries of alternative rock with a rich collage of sounds and an injection of hardcore attitude. Formed in 2018, the band has a nuanced approach to songwriting – you’ll hear inspiration from the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, and Deftones alongside nods to Oasis and Third Eye Blind. The group made their debut with the Willpower EP in 2018, followed by Untitled later that year and a handful of promo singles in 2019. Each release has garnered critical acclaim from fans as well as outlets like No Echo, Stereogum, New Noise Magazine, and many others. The group’s caustic mix of rock influences and hardcore spirit has landed them tours and shows with bands like Vein, All Out War, Death Threat, Fiddlehead, Praise, Anxious, Koyo, and One Step Closer.

Soul Blind is Cen (vocals/bass), Justin Sarica (guitar), Finn Lovell (guitar), and Steve Hurley (drums).
