In the midst of a national book tour promoting her much anticipated book, “From Princess to Porn Star” available from at Amazon, Tasha sat down with Emmreport correspondent Stella Francesca at Book Soup in Hollywood shared her thoughts about the book, the response to it, and much more.

Stella Francesca: {SF} What lessons did you learn or relearn when writing the book?

Tasha Reign {TR: “That’s a tough question… You know what, I feel like I definitely relearned that I need to always advocate for myself. While reading the book, I [realized] I [need] to take responsibility and just to advocate for myself in every situation. And I was really proud of myself, at the end. I did an audio book recording of it, which was interesting because you have to read every single sentence. And I kind of wish I did that before the book was published, actually, because you catch a lot of typos. It was emotional and it was a really cool experience.

SF: Are there certain chapters that you wanted to include that weren’t included?

TR: “Yes, I tried to include some candid chapters about my life as a pig owner. I owned two

pot-bellied pigs and it just didn’t really go with the flow of the book, so they took it out. There were a few details about people that they felt were too inappropriate and intense that they also took out about family members. Overall, I got to keep a lot of stuff in there, and I really love it.”

SF: What was the hardest part about writing this book?

TR: “The most challenging part about writing this book was reliving any sort of negative experiences.. It was kind of a re-traumatization of the bad experiences, but I didn’t feel like it overwhelmed the whole experience of writing the book. It was definitely the most challenging part and then having to

re-read it for an audio book.

SF: So, how do you deal with the negative emotions while writing?

TR: “I don’t know if there is great advice I could give. I think it’s just part of the process. It’s really hard and obviously, have support like a therapist. That’s really helpful. I was not in therapy at the time, but I have friends. A lot of peers in the adult business reached out and knew what I was doing.

They seemed to be aware, because they have written books themselves.. Just to have friends, family who ever is in your life that can support you is definitely the best way to go.”

SF: What has been the toughest criticism that you’ve received as an author or as an adult performer?

TR: “So I try not to give too much weight to the reviews online, but they’ll be ten great reviews, and that one person pops out of the woodwork, and they’re just being honest. They read it, had some feelings, and it might not be great, and it’s really difficult to just push that away. The most difficult part about being an adult performer that you meet has seen you have sex on camera before. It’s really hard.”

SF: What projects are you working on currently in the present or in the future?

TR: “I’m actually opening up a boutique in Topanga Canyon. It’s a storefront and I will be opening it in 3 weeks. It’s a clothing and home goods store. That’s what I’m focusing on right now. I’m hoping to curate the collections and I do hope to design them from scratch in the future, but right now, it will be more a curation of antiques, goods, and things that I would decorate with at my home.”
