An on-floor rope demonstration trades spectacle for technique, giving viewers a closer look at the communication, control and trust behind bondage play.
EXXXOTICA has never been a convention built around standing quietly behind velvet ropes. The appeal is access: fans meet performers, creators work the floor, educators take on subjects that rarely make polite conversation, and sooner or later somebody ends up volunteering for something. At EXXXOTICA Chicago 2026, that somebody was Big Will.
During his convention coverage, Big Will connected with adult performer and rigger Harrison Mark, with Molly Silva joining the conversation as a special guest. Mark walked him through a controlled rope-bondage demonstration, turning what could have been a quick visual stunt into a closer look at the thinking behind the rope—how a rigger approaches positioning, maintains communication and pays attention to the person being tied.
Mark publicly describes himself as a Daddy Dom, primal, rigger and adult talent, so the demonstration landed squarely in his wheelhouse. More importantly, it showed the difference between rope used as a prop and rope treated as a practiced BDSM skill. The knots may be what the camera sees first, but responsible rope work begins earlier, with consent, negotiated boundaries and an honest understanding of everyone’s experience level.
That distinction matters. Rope bondage can place pressure on nerves, restrict circulation and create risks that are easy to underestimate. A convention demonstration can introduce the craft and its dynamics, but it is not a substitute for hands-on education from qualified practitioners. The most telling part of a good demonstration is often not the finished tie; it is the steady communication taking place while the rope is going on.
Silva added another familiar face to Big Will’s EXXXOTICA coverage. She was also interviewed by The Jiggy Jaguar Show while appearing at the One Lucky Guy booth, giving the weekend another connection between floor interviews, creator promotion and the convention’s larger media ecosystem. At an event where a single aisle can take visitors from performer meet-and-greets to educational seminars and live demonstrations, that crossover is part of the experience.
