Maitland Ward Gets Personal in New Vulnerable, Forbidden Fruits Podcast Interviews

Maitland Ward is sharing her intimate stories with two new podcast interviews for Vulnerable with Christy Carlson Romano and Spotify’s Forbidden Fruits with Julia Fox and Niki Takesh.

The (in)famous actress, model, performer, cosplayer, content creator and author of best-selling celebrity memoir Rated X: How Porn Liberated Me from Hollywood offered her hosts an earful about her stunning transition from fresh-faced teen queen to sultry sex symbol and adult film superstar, and how her life, relationships and perspective have changed over the years as a result.
Ward spoke to Romano about her path to adult entertainment through cosplaying (“It was all for me; I was in charge of the brand, I was in charge of what was going out there”), women directing and producing adult content (“they know the buttons to push for a straight male”) and feeling comfortable on set (“I go in and choose who I am going to work with, what scripts I’m going to do, and so I very much have control over the kind of content that I want to put out, so I’m fortunate.”)
She also told Fox and Takesh about her formative years (“I grew up in a very normal home, I was a very good girl… I felt it was always expected of me”), claiming her sexuality as a content creator (“I found that I was an exhibitionist!”) and the surprisingly supportive response she received from friends, family and former co-workers after launching her adult film career in 2019:
“It was a positive experience overall. I cannot tell you how many people who have come up to me from my past… who have said, ‘We’re so proud of you’… [and] I did have a great conversation with the producer from Boy Meets World; he said he was proud of me, and he told me something that I really think is important… ‘Don’t separate mainstream acting from porn acting; I see you, you’re an actress. That is who you are’… and I really appreciate that.”
Vulnerable with Christy Carlton Romano episode “Boy Meets World’s Maitland Ward on How Adult Entertainment Liberated Her from Hollywood” is available at Spotify.com, as well as Apple Podcasts, YouTube and other quality podcast platforms.

Spotify Original Podcast Forbidden Fruits with Julia Fox and Niki Takesh episode “Maitland Ward, Porn’s Heroine” is available at Spotify.com and re-broadcast through Podtail.com.

ABOUT MAITLAND WARD:
Southern California-born and bred Maitland Ward has quickly become one of the biggest stars in adult entertainment, after an-already successful career as an American model, actress and cosplay personality. After finding fame in the ‘90s on CBS soap The Bold and the Beautiful and smash ABC sitcom Boy Meets World, as well as a plum role in 2004’s cult classic White Chicks, Ward decided to shake things up with racy social media content, sexy cosplay and appearing at fan conventions before making the leap into adult film in 2019.
The statuesque (5’10”) all-natural redhead is unique in that not only is she beautiful and built for the adult biz, Ward’s talent as an actress means she can also carry dramatic and comedic scenes with ease. Her playful energy, professionalism and open sexuality earned her an exclusive performance contract with Vixen Media Group and the famous face of the brand’s blockbuster studio, Deeper.
In ‘20, Ward won three AVN Awards: Best Supporting Actress, Best Three-Way Sex Scene-G/G/B for Deeper film Drive and Favorite Camming Cosplayer, as well as three XBIZ Awards for Crossover Star of the Year, Best Actress-Feature Movie and Best Sex Scene-Feature Movie, also for Drive. In ‘21 she won two AVN Awards: Best Leading Actress for Deeper’s Muse and Best Boy/Girl Sex Scene for Higher Power, plus two XBIZ Awards for Best Acting-Lead and Best Sex Scene-Feature for Muse. In ‘22 she won two XBIZ trophies for Best Acting-Lead for Muse 2 and Performer of the Year. In ’23 Ward won two AVN Awards for Best Leading Actress for Deeper feature Drift and Mainstream Venture of the Year, and an XBIZ trophy for Drift in the category of Best Sex Scene-Feature Movie.
Ward’s recent mainstream endeavors include starring and co-producing a TV series, The Big Time, taking on a lead role in psychological thriller Just for You and releasing an eye-popping no-holds-barred memoir about her wild life in the entertainment biz, Rated X: How Porn Liberated Me from Hollywood (which won a ’23 AVN Award for the aforementioned Mainstream Venture of the Year and an esteemed Kirkus Star for Excellence).
